Nathan Mackinnon and Jonathan Drouin of Team Canada

I wanted to take a moment and write a congratulatory rant to Nathan Mackinnon and Jonathan Drouin of the Halifax Mooseheads for cracking the line up for Canada’s entry into this year’s World Junior Hockey Championship.

Both players are integral parts of the Halifax Moosheads this season and both have been huge contributing factors in the success that the team has been having thus far. The offensive potential of this pairing is off the charts, and the Canadian brain trust would be smart to keep the line mates together on the big ice surface.

So far in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Mackinnon has played 30 games, scored 22 goals, has 30 assists for a total of 52 points. He leads the Mooseheads in scoring. The second leading scorer for the team is Drouin who has 24 games played, scored 19 goals and set up 29 for a total of 48 points.

Having seen these two player live in Halifax last month, I can honestly say that every moment they stepped foot on the ice together, something magical was created. They were always two steps ahead of everyone else on the ice. Although they have two completely different styles and skill sets, they compliment each other superbly.

GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!
