Random Thoughts……….

I have only one blog post so far in November and that does not sit well for me, but due to work and real life has kind of gotten in the way of my writing of late. So I figured a good way to address that is to write a blog about some random topics, a “hodge podge” of ideas more or less. What could I be ready to tackle?!?!?!?! Let’s take a look!!

Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon

I think that the above picture is awesome for a few reasons. The first one of course is that both Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon are from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia (which is just about 2 hours from where I live.) I also think it is great for Sidney to take the potential number one pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and mentor him. Although it is not in the exact same way that Mario mentored Sid, it is a great gesture and also a way to ensure that MacKinnon makes the most of his career. It also doesn’t hurt to have to push yourself to play with the best player in the world.

Finn and Jake the Dog

So my daughter has me watching the fantastic and quirky cartoon show “Adventure Time with Finn and Jake.” Although it is a kid’s television show, the writers craft the dialogue in such a way that it is also entertaining for the adults watching as well. I can not tell you how many times I have caught myself laughing out loud  but I can tell you that I enjoy the show immensely. I think even more than my daughter.

Transformers 4

So news has broken that Michael Bay has decided to revisit the Transformers movie franchise for a fourth film but wait….there has been even more news to come to light in the last few days. The logo above is the first official picture to be released about the production and also, it was announced that Mark Wahlberg was signed to star in the film. Apparently, Shia Labouef had requested atleast 18 million dollars to return to the franchise. I think that Wahlberg could breathe new life in the franchise but the logo makes me curious, and could we possibly see Galvatron?!?!?!?!

NHL Lockout 2012

Well we are over 50 days into the NHL lockout that has plagued the 2012-2013 NHL season but there is some optimism. The NHL and the NHLPA have met for the most consecutive days in the lockout and have had around 6 hour long sessions, some multiple sessions, per day. Even though we have heard that both sides are still far apart, the fact that they are still talking is the most important thing to take away from it all. For the majority of the lockout, we have had long stretches of time where the only talking was from either side to the media and not each other. I am hoping and praying that we are closer to NHL hockey.
